“Art meets Technology” – return of the new perspective in AVL ZalaZONE

This year's theme is Communication, an idea that was born before COVID and intensified during the quarantine: there has never been such a need and space for electronic communication, as it kept us in touch with other people even during isolation and provided a window to the world.

In addition to all this, the exhibition's topic also raises several questions: Can personal meetings be replaced? Will it be possible to accept the challenges facing humanity in an intense but objective discourse so that the community of thinkers can find common solutions? Does open communication aimed at increasing participation stabilize democracies, or do hierarchies and dictatorships take away the voice of society in the media? These issues were all addressed in Josef Mittlmeier’s - head of the "Art and Technology" project at the University of Regensburg - speech at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Zoltán Hamar, managing director of AVL-ZalaZONE Kft., referred to the exhibition as a stop, through which we can slow down and think about what we do and what we live in.

László Vigh, Member of Parliament of Zala County, emphasized: The Event Center provides an environment suitable for artistic events. He also highlighted the role of technological developments in providing inspiration for creation.

Dr. Tibor Vadvári, deputy mayor of Zalaegerszeg, drew attention to the importance and depth of art in our fast-paced world.

Within the framework of the project, 30 paintings were published by the students, of which 17 were exhibited in AVL ZalaZONE. The paintings can be viewed until the 5^th of April in the Event Center of the Proving Ground in Zalaegerszeg following registration. The visit is free of charge. We are waiting for all those interested in an exciting journey into the world of art and technology.
