Excellent success stories took center stage at the Exporters' Nite 2023 organized by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ) on the 19th of June to celebrate the achievements of export-oriented businesses. At the ceremony, this year's award winners were honored. The awards that were presented highlight Austria's position as a leader in industrial exports and showcase the innovation and quality of its companies on the global stage.
AVL List GmbH received the Global EcoVision Award from WKÖ in the presence of Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer, Federal Minister Martin Kocher, and WKÖ President Harald Mahrer for the achievements in Hungary. The award was presented by President Mahrer and Mariana Kühnel, Deputy Secretary General of WKÖ and was accepted by Maria Kollmann and Dirk Janetzko on behalf of AVL.
This recognition acknowledges AVL's commitment to developing innovative technologies, products, and services that contribute to environmental relief and climate protection. AVL's R&D base in Érd, Hungary, played a pivotal role in earning this distinction. With a growing team of nearly 560 employees, one of the key focuses of the facility is emission reduction research and is now the second-largest research site after Graz, spanning 5.6 hectares. The facility in Érd created an additional 350 engineering jobs in Hungary. In Kecskemet, AVL focuses on the topic of hydrogen in their Fuel Cell Test Center.
AVL Hungary's significant involvement in the AVL ZalaZONE project, a proving ground for testing both conventional and autonomous vehicles, further exemplifies their dedication to sustainable mobility solutions. In this joint venture, AVL takes the lead role and is responsible for the business operations of the test track, including marketing, business development, and ensuring optimal testing conditions. This involvement further solidifies AVL's commitment to shaping the future of mobility through its expertise and technological advancements.
