Formula Student East 2024

The Formula Student East is renowned for its demanding format, which tests the limits of engineering innovation and practical application. The competition is structured into several key components: dynamic on-track events and technical presentations. Each element plays a crucial role in assessing the teams' abilities and their vehicles' performance. 

Dynamic Track Events: 

Teams faced a series of challenging events on the track, including: 

• Acceleration Test: Measuring the vehicle’s ability to reach high speeds in a short distance. 
• Skid Pad Challenge: Testing the car’s handling and cornering abilities in both directions. 
• Endurance Race: A 22 km long race designed to push the vehicle’s durability and efficiency. 
• Energy Efficiency Test: Evaluating how effectively the car uses energy, critical for both electric and combustion vehicles. 

These events are designed to simulate real-world driving conditions and stress-test the vehicles' engineering. Each team’s performance in these events contributes significantly to their overall score. 

Technical presentations: 
In addition to the dynamic events, teams presented detailed analyses of their designs and strategies.
Key presentation categories included: 

• Business Presentation: Teams pitched their innovative ideas and business models focusing on the commercial viability of their projects.
• Manufacturing and Cost Analysis: This segment evaluated the feasibility of manufacturing the vehicle and the accuracy of cost projections. 
• Engineering Design Event: Teams underwent a comprehensive technical interview where judges assessed the design and engineering of their vehicle, scrutinizing every detail of their development process. 

Arrabona Racing Team: A triumph of engineering excellence 

Among the many stellar performances, the Arrabona Racing Team from Széchenyi István University in Győr achieved remarkable success. The team clinched 1st place overall in the combustion category,
showcasing their exceptional engineering skills. 

Their success was not limited to the track. The Arrabona Racing Team excelled in both the design and cost analysis segments, proving their vehicle’s superior engineering and economic efficiency.
