The preparatory event of the Formula Student East international student’s construction competition, Formula Student Easter 2023, was held on June 16-18 in Zalaegerszeg, at the AVL ZalaZONE Test Track, where we welcomed teams from all over the world with open arms!

...but what is the Formula Student Program?

The FS competition series was created in 1981 in order for students to leave school as agile and experienced professionals through a motivating and complex challenge, so that "newbies" won't be so new either. They have the opportunity to acquire the skills that will later shape them into really good competition engineers, and they can come across situations and people at the very beginning of their careers that can easily play a decisive role later on. Here, it really pays to "prove yourself" for the students, as careers start from the Formula Student Program.

FS Easter as season opener...

FS Easter is practically the starting point of the year's series of Formula Student events, a kind of preparation event before the start of the racing season.
During the work process, the teams have to design, build and test their own racing car, which then has to be proven live, thus the participants gain not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical experience in designing, building and racing the cars. With the participation, students gain valuable experience and make connections that can help them in their future careers in motorsport and the automotive industry.
Hungarian universities are also represented at the event, such as the Széchenyi University or the Budapest University of Technology, whose students are active users of our Test track and the University track even during the year. For them, this year's FS Easter will be like "coming home".
The wide range of entry categories covered the interests of all engineers, such as internal combustion engine or electric car racing, but since 2018 the Driverless category has also gained more and more popularity - this is where ADAS technologies start and where the experts of the subject are being honed!

The end result was the following:

1. Joanneum Racing Graz with 875.6 points
2. BME Formula Racing Team with 527.4 points
3. TU Wien Racing 521.2 with 3 points
