Turanza 6 Tire Presentation - Bridgestone and Speedworld at the Test Track!

In April, Bridgestone introduced its best premium touring tire to date, the Bridgestone Turanza 6 tire. To properly showcase its capabilities and strengths, Bridgestone chose the best partners: Speedworld and our AVL ZalaZONE Automotive Test Track!

Based on extensive consumer tests conducted by Bridgestone on driver needs and expectations, it can be stated that 86% of drivers identified "wet performance" as a key factor when purchasing new tires. Since rain and wet road conditions were also identified by drivers as one of the biggest challenges during driving, it was natural for Bridgestone to focus on "rain performance" with the new tire, Turanza 6, which has been a tremendous success. With its best-in-class wet performance, these tires keep drivers safe even in challenging wet conditions. These characteristics were tested on our High-Speed Handling Track and our Brake Surface with 8 different surfaces, with the professional support of Speedworld.

As a basis for comparison, a dry asphalt braking test was performed with an electric Mini from 110 km/h, where the tire behaved as expected: providing straight, smooth, and quick deceleration, followed by the wet blocks. On aquaplaning, also decelerating from 110 km/h, after the initial floating, once the tire made contact with the asphalt, deceleration was consistent and intense. Although a competing tire was not tested, the Bridgestone Turanza 6 performed well on its own.

The next stop was our high-speed handling track element, which with its 2 km length and 12 m width, can be considered a miniature race track - and was used as such during the tests. Although the Turanza 6 is not a racing tire, Bridgestone wanted to highlight its wear resistance and excellent grip, so these were demonstrated on a Volkswagen ID.3, an eighth-generation Golf, an Arteon, and a Mercedes GLC compact SUV. During the three-lap sessions, we only noticed tire warming on the ID.3 - in all other cases, the tire behaved reliably and predictably.

In summary, based on the tests conducted at AVL ZalaZONE, it can be concluded that those who seek outstanding wet performance, reliability, and durability from their summer tires will not be disappointed with the Bridgestone Turanza 6 tire.
